Spark EV: The North-Americans’ first subcompact GM goes green. There’s the same silver-painted closed air intake as in Volt’s front, to represent that this vehicle doesn’t use a single drop of gasoline. There aren’t huge changes inside or outside because the biggest news are hidden under the hood: the 130 hp produced by this car get optimized by the improved aerodynamics and the reduced weight, resulting in an 8-sec 0-60 mph. It’ll offer a special home charging system to provide full battery in seven hours. All without losing anything of the huge safety pack or the style accessories options.
Fiat
500L: After debuting at the United States in the hatchback version, Cinquecento now officially arrives at North-America in the minivan body. There were made some small visual changes from the European version, specially in the front design, but the car is still the same spacious five-seater which can be painted in two colors. Besides that, there are lots of technology and safety items, such as cutting-edge entertainment system. Another very interesting update is that US 500L will use the 1.4 Multijet engine, featuring the best of downsizing to move a 2 ft. longer and 0.5 ft. wider and taller 500 with 160 hp.

Accord PHEV: And one more plug-in hybrid vehicle arrives. Honda could’ve used a less exotic design for Accord’s new version, but it’s undeniable that this big front grille with blue details stand out in the crowd. But the most important feature here is the engine “team”: the gasoline 2.0 and the electric one can produce up to 200 hp working together, besides of the excellent 115 mpg consumption: this rate is so good that Honda claims Accord is the best among its direct competitors, like Chevrolet Volt and Toyota Prius Plug-in. This car will hit the streets on next January, starting with New York and California.

Outlander 3: The Japanese crossover finally debuts in the US. This car arrives with a special Limited Edition to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary of arriving there, but it’s still unbelievable that a 2013 crossover’s design resembles twenty years older cars. However, there’s plenty of technology working for both comfort and safety, with items such as HID headlights and premium entertainment system. The new Outlander will use a 2.4 with 160 hp with CVT transmission or a 3.0 V6 with 220 hp, using an automatic six-speed option. But since this is an urban car, the full traction will be optional.
Porsche
Cayman 3: Here’s the Germans’ big mystery. The new Cayman shares platform with Boxster, and by that completes Porsche’s entry level. The dimensions were changed in order to obtain better handling, which includes bigger wheels and wheelbase and reduced weight. This car will start with a six-cylinder 2.7 with 270 hp, while the S version uses a 3.4 with 320 hp – these engines take it from zero to 60 mph in 5s4 and 4s7, but without wasting fuel: the respective consumption rates are 30,6 and 28,2 mpg. All that power comes with great trim levels, including keyless entry and adaptative cruise control systems.
